Location

Nový Smokovec belongs to the most important climatic spas in Slovakia. The resort Spa Nový Smokovec (www.kupelens.sk) is located directly in the centre of High Tatras, 1010 meters above the sea level. The Spa Nový Smokovec itself consists of three accommodation facilities, restaurant Svišť (Marmot), congress centre, spa treatment facilities, wellness and sports facilities. Accommodation will be arranged by Academia Tours Travel Agency in one of these three hotels.

Accommodation

Hotel Palace ***
Hotel Palace is situated in a beautiful surrounding, directly in the centre of the Spa Resort Nový Smokovec. The hotel offers accommodation in pleasantly furnished rooms, which are equipped with toilette, bathroom, telephone, TV with satellite and radio. Some rooms also have balcony. The hotel consists of 75 rooms (single, double and twin rooms) and 2 apartments.

Hotel Branisko ***
Hotel Branisko is built in a typical Tatra’s style. It has 20 rooms and 1 apartment. It is located in the middle of a pleasant park decorated with art pieces. The rooms are equipped with toilette, bathroom, TV and radio. Some rooms also have balcony. Hotel Branisko is the centre for the spa treatment.

Hotel Palace Grand ****
Hotel is directly connected with a tennis hall, bowling and large, modern equipped fitness centre. There are 19 higher standard double rooms, each with balcony, minibar and TV. Most of the rooms have marvellous view of the Lomnický Peak. Free cable internet access in the rooms. Accommodation surcharge will be added to the registration fee for those participants who wish to stay in the 4* Hotel Palace Grand. Please consult the Academia Tours Travel Agency.

Guests can use the swimming pool, fitness centre, tennis hall, ricochet and certain wellness procedures for free. The rest of services are to be paid. Hotel guests can pay with American Express, Visa, Master Card, JCB credit cards.

Congress centre

Congress centre is connected with restaurant SVIŠŤ and the Hotel Palace. This air-conditioned modern well equipped centre will be used for the registration, presentations and coffee breaks. You can watch presentation from the congress halls "live" on several TV screens located outside the centre.

Connections

Train: International train station is in the city Poprad situated about 15 km away from the Nový Smokovec. You can use taxi, bus or the Tatra’s Electrical Railway train to arrive to the resort.

Bus: A lot of bus connections is arriving to Starý Smokovec located next to Nový Smokovec. The bus station is just about 200 metres from the hotels.

Car: Take the highway D1 and fast road No. E50 (Bratislava - Žilina - Košice), in Poprad continue on No. 534 (High Tatras) to Nový Smokovec.

Plane: International airport is located in Poprad (15 km), from there take taxi, bus or the Tatra’s Electrical Railway train.
